Leinster have cited Leicester flanker Lewis Moody for a stamp on their centre Brian O’Driscoll in the Heineken Cup game at Welford Road last Sunday. The incident which happened in the 23rd minute of the quarter final tie when O’Driscoll was caught at the bottom of a ruck, was picked up on television and brought adverse comment from commentators. At the end of the game Leiwis ended up in the sin-bin having received a yellow card from French referee Joel Jutge.

Leinster PRO Tom McCormack said that the decision to cite was taken in accordance with Leinster’s ” duty to protect it’s players whether we win or lose. Of course we may be accused of sour grapes but that is not the case. Leicester deserved their victory, no question of that.”

Meanwhile Leinster pair Keith Gleeson and Paul Wallace have been called up to the Senior squad. Gleeson is there as cover for Eric Miller who is suffering from a stomach bug while Wallace fills the vacancy that was left when the original squad was announced.
