Wood and O’Kelly Withdrawn from Irish Squad

Keith Wood (Harlequins) and Malcolm O’Kelly (Leinster) have both been withdrawn from the Irish squad to play Wales in the Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship in Lansdowne Road on Sunday,

Keith Wood (Harlequins) and Malcolm O’Kelly (Leinster) have both been withdrawn from the Irish squad to play Wales in the Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship in Lansdowne Road on Sunday, February 3rd, due to injury.

Shane Byrne (Leinster) has been promoted from the A squad to the Senior
squad has a replacement for Wood. Rob Henderson (Munster) has been called into the Senior squad as a precaution should Shane Horgan (Leinster) fail to recover from the injury he sustained in the European Cup match against Leicester.

The vacancies left in the A squad by Paul O’Connell’s(Munster) call up to the senior squad and Ulster’s Jonathan Bell (achilles injury) have been filled by Mick O’Driscoll (Munster) and Mike Mullins (Munster) respectively.

Byrne’s replacement on the A squad will be announced later.
