South African rugby was shocked today by the news that coach Harry Viljoen had resigned as coach of the Springbok. Citing ‘media pressure’ and ‘the negative effect on his family’ as the major reasons for his sudden decision, Viljoen stressed that although he enjoyed the full support of South Africa Rugby he could no longer continue in the position.
