Matt Williams Appointed Ireland ‘A’ Coach

Leinster’s Matt Williams has been appointed coach to the Ireland ‘A’ side and his coaching team will include Mark McCall (Ulster) and Steph Nel (Connacht) with Joe Miles (Ulster) as team manager.

Williams, in just his second year as Leinster coach, has transformed that side into one of the most formidable in international club rugby. Prior to last weekend, they had been unbeaten all season and were the first side qualified for the quarter final of the Heineken Cup as well as capturing the inaugural Celtic League trophy. His elevation to the international arena is just reward for his coaching ability.

He will be assisted by Ulsterman Mark McCall as assistant coach (backs) and Connacht’s Steph Nel who particular area of expertise is the forwards while Joe Miles will be team manager, a role he filled in the past with Ulster.
