Shannon maintained their position at the top of Division One thanks to 30-11 win over Young Munster at Thomond Park. And with Co Carlow going down 34-25 to Blackrock in Stradbrook, Garryowen moved to second place following their 34-19 win over DLSP in Kilternan.

Clontarf had a narrow 21-19 win in Templeville Road, UCD an even narrower, 22-21 victory at home to Terenure while Galwegians were 20-16 winners over Lansdowne at Crowley Park.

In Division Two, in the only games played on Sunday, Thomond defeated UCC 32-6 and Old Belvedere accounted for near neighbours Bective Rangers 41-13 in Donnybrook.
