They may not reamin there too long as Garryowen, a point behind, play tomorrow, but they can enjoy their hour in the sun as they continue their superb run in the top flight. In the only other game played today in Division One, Clontarf defeated Ballymena 34-13 to move into third place in the table.

In Division Two, Belfast Harlequins extended their lead at the top of the table thanks to a 25-20 win over Old Belvedere at Anglesea Road. Barnhall slipped to third after they lost 25-7 to Malone with UL Bohemians moving into the second spot vacated by Barnhall, following their good 31-18 win over Ballynahinch at Ballymacarn Park. Wanderers are still looking for their first victory, they lost 6-3 to Sunday’s Well while the Wells’s neighbours Dolphin had a fine 19-15 win over Bective Rangers in Donnybrook.

There were wins in Division Three for Greystones, 20-12 in Naas, Dublin University, 27-18 over Monkstown in College Park while Clonakilty etched out a highly creditable 13-13 draw in Bangor to move into third place in the table.Old Wesley’s game with Suttonians was postponed.
