Former Cantebury hooker Matt Sexton has agreed to join Ulster on a two year contract. The 31-year-old is due to arrive in two weeks time. He will be ineligible for the side’s remaining Heineken Cup Pool Two games – away to London Wasps and home to Benneton Treviso – but will be able to play in the Interprovincial Series and the play-off stages of the Heineken Cup should Ulster qualify.
Commenting on Sexton’s signing Ulster coach Alan Solomons said “Matt will add value to Ulster Rugby, he is a very good footballer and is particularly strong in the set piece.”
Ulster attempted to sign Christchurch born Sexton earlier this season but Cantebury were not prepared to release him.
