Irish scrum-half Peter Stringer is given just a 50/50 chance of playing against the All Blacks following an ankle injury he sustained in training.

Stringer, considered crucial to Ireland’s hopes of turning over the Blacks, went over on an ankle during training on Thursday and by Friday afternoon it was reported that the Munster man was still experiencing soreness. He will be given every chance to take his place in the starting line-up and a decision on his fitness will not be made until just before kick off. Llanelli’s Guy Easterby is standing by to take Stringer’s place, and Leinster’s Brian O’Meara has been called into the squad as cover.
