St.Mary’s College retained the leadership of the AIB League following their 20-15 win over Ballymena at Eaton Park this afternoon.

St.Mary’s College retained the leadership of the AIB League following their 20-15 win over Ballymena at Eaton Park this afternoon. Mary’s led 14-6 at half time thanks to tries from Kieran Lewis and Peter Copeland who had come on as a replacement for the injured Gareth Gannon.

UCD lost their unbeaten record when they lost 22-19 at home to Galwegians. Eoghan Hickey kicked four penalties for the students while Shane Moore scored their try but Hickey was outscored by Bryan Shelbourne who landed five penalties and converted a second half penalty try to take the points.In Division Two UL Bohemians and Barnhall remain unbeaten runs following their respective wins over Old Belvedere and Bective Rangers and in Division Three newcomers Clonakilty and Connemara recorded victories, Clonakilty winning 17-13 away to Corinthians and Connemara beating Naas 12-9 in Clifden.
