Tries from Justin Meagher and Cathal Murphy, one in each half, gave Connacht a 26-11 win over title holders Munster in the Under 21 championship at the Galway Sportsground this afternoon (Sun).

Meagher scored from an intercept in the opening half, Colm Glynn converted and added a penalty to give the home side a narrow interval lead.

There was little to choose between the sides in the second half, all the scores coming from penalties, two from Glynn and one from Conrad O’Sullivan.

In the closing minutes, with the game delicately balanced, Connacht won a lineout inside the Munster 22 and the Connacht pack rumbled their forward to set up the decisive try for Murphy.
