After nine minutes, Bohs were awarded a penalty in front of the posts, but instead of going for an easy three points they took a quick tap and Jeannette Feighery was on hand to get the second try with Keohane again adding the extras.

Five minutes later Galbally held onto possession of the ball and, with strong play from their forwards, made their way up to the Bohs line to score a pushover try which was unconverted.

For the next 20 minutes both teams defended excellently and prevented either side from breaking through.

With ten minutes left in the first half, UL Bohs were in the driving seat and Mairead Kelly crashed over for a well-taken try. Try number four followed from second row Maeve D'Arcy some six minutes later.

Bohs were not finished yet and the impressive Feighery charged over for the fifth to make it 29-5 to UL at the interval.

Galbally started the second half by controlling possession and made repeated attacks in their efforts to reduce the deficit, but superb tackling and defence by Bohs prevented them from scoring.

The second half was played mostly in the Bohs half of the pitch. But UL had the final say on the scoreboard when Feighery completed her hat-trick, haring after a kick downfield from Niamh Briggs to dot down again.

Briggs, one of Ireland's star players in the 2012 Six Nations, added the extras and seal a 31-point success for the new All-Ireland Plate champions.

The final games of the Women's All-Ireland League will be played out on Sunday, Apri 15 and Sunday, April 22.

Reigning champions and current table toppers UL Bohs, who are determined to add another All-Ireland crown to the trophy cabinet, face away trips to Blackrock and Highfield.
