The British & Irish Lions are in Ireland this week for a training camp at Carton House as they build towards their opening match of the 2013 tour against the Barbarians. Head coach Warren Gatland and captain Sam Warburton fielded questions from the media earlier today.
Varley made his Munster debut in 2006 and then enjoyed a brief but successful stint with Guinness Premiership side Wasps before rejoining Munster at the beginning of the 2009/10 season.
Varley has impressed at both set-piece time and in the loose in both the Magners League and Heineken Cup.
The former St.Munchin’s pupil was a key member of Garryowen’s All-Ireland League and AIB Cup-winning side of 2007. HE was also a member of the Club International Team.
