A real workhorse and a multi-talented back rower, JOHN MULDOON's call-up to the summer tour squad is a much-deserved one after some tremendous displays for Connacht this past season.
The Portumna native, a ferocious tackler, was appointed Connacht captain last August and penned a new three-year deal with the province in January. As a teenager, he had the distinction of playing at Lansdowne Road for the Ireland Youths and then just a couple of weeks later for the Galway minor hurlers at Croke Park.
Muldoon has experience of three underage World Cups and has also been a consistent performer for Ireland 'A' in the Churchill Cup. Playing at number 8, he scored a try in the 'A' side's win over Scotland in February.
