Introduction Travel Accommodation Did you know?
Cardiff, the capital of Wales, has a rich history dating back over 2,000 years. The Romans had a fort there in the first century AD and the world's richest man in the 19th century, Lord Bute, spent a fortune decorating the castle and creating the civic centre. However it has only been a city for a century and its compactness takes some tourists by surprise.

Within a few minutes the visitor to Cardiff can experience the castle, a scenic walk by the River Taff, the recently developed Cardiff Bay and of course the Millennium Stadium. Cardiff Bay is home to many leisure facilities, bars and restaurants as well as the Wales Millennium Centre, home to the Welsh National Opera. As well as the nightlife, Cardiff also houses a wide variety of shops from the high street staples to dozens of independent of boutique shops unique to this memorable city.
