Six Nations Announces Partnership With YouTube

The biggest annual rugby tournament in the world, the RBS 6 Nations, today announced a partnership with YouTube that will see match highlights and exclusive content made available for YouTube viewers worldwide for the next three seasons.

The deal is a first for rugby anywhere in the world. The RBS 6 Nations' official YouTube channel, 'RBS6Nations', will have highlights from every Championship match available to watch within minutes of the match finishing.

As an added bonus for viewers in the UK, Ireland and Italy, comprehensive highlights will be uploaded and available 24 hours after the games.

The channel will also give viewers the chance to watch a wealth of archive moments from past tournaments, which will be uploaded on a regular basis.

From the 2013 season, youtube.com/RBS6Nations will be the premier online destination for all the tries, tackles and drama from the top tier of world rugby.

John Feehan, Chief Executive Officer at RBS 6 Nations, said: "This is a fantastic development for the sport. The channel will be the place to watch online coverage of the tournament and will provide our viewers with excellent footage from this year's games as well as some of the glorious moments from the past."

Stephen Nuttall, Senior Director, Sports for YouTube Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "The Six Nations is one of the world's great sporting occasions and we're very proud of this partnership which will bring comprehensive highlights to YouTube users.

"We intend to build on this to establish YouTube as the online destination for rugby worldwide."

Speaking ahead of Ireland's final RBS 6 Nations match against Italy, hooker Rory Best said: "We took a lot of positives from the France game, we'll take those forward and build on them. We can potentially finish third in the Championship and we're looking to end the campaign with a good win in Rome."

Speaking ahead of Ireland's upcoming RBS 6 Nations encounter with France, prop Mike Ross said: "We were enormously frustrated after the Scottish game. We're playing at home (this Saturday), it's a big source of pride for us. We want to get back to winning ways. Even though the Championship is gone, it's our home patch and you want to win every time you pull on the green jersey."

Speaking ahead of Ireland's upcoming RBS 6 Nations clash with France, hooker Rory Best said: "We still have two games left to play and we have to make sure we finish well. It's going to be a tough challenge against France. But we're back at home, it's a sell-out and we need to make sure we put away the chances we create more efficiently than we have done."
