Fergus McFadden's desire to play international rugby on a regular basis was encapsulated by his last-minute try against Canada. The game was well won but Ireland wanted a sixth and final try and the in-form winger was only too happy to deliver, taking Paul Marshall's pass off a scrum and handing off Sean White to crash over in the left corner.

Fixtures Announced For 2011 RBS 6 Nations

Ireland will open the 2011 RBS 6 Nations with a trip to Italy next February, while the first Championship game at the Aviva Stadium will be a Sunday game against France. Declan Kidney's men will finish the campaign with a home fixture against England.

The RBS 6 Nations Championship will kick off on a Friday night in 2011 when Wales host England on February 4.

This will be the first time the world famous tournament has kicked off on a Friday night, though Wales and France have played each other during the Championship in recent seasons on a Friday.

Ireland will open their 2011 campaign with a trip to Italy on Saturday, February 5. France will play Scotland later that day in Paris.

The first RBS 6 Nations game at the Aviva Stadium will take place a week later on Sunday, February 13, with France providing the opposition.

There is a free weekend after that before the Championship resumes with Ireland again playing on a Sunday, this time against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Another free week in March is followed by a Saturday evening trip for Declan Kidney's men to the Millennium Stadium to play Wales.

The 'Super Saturday' final day of the Championship sees Scotland at home to Italy and France at home to Wales either side of Ireland's last game - an evening kick-off against England at the Aviva Stadium.

Speaking ahead of Ireland's final RBS 6 Nations match against Italy, hooker Rory Best said: "We took a lot of positives from the France game, we'll take those forward and build on them. We can potentially finish third in the Championship and we're looking to end the campaign with a good win in Rome."

Speaking ahead of Ireland's upcoming RBS 6 Nations encounter with France, prop Mike Ross said: "We were enormously frustrated after the Scottish game. We're playing at home (this Saturday), it's a big source of pride for us. We want to get back to winning ways. Even though the Championship is gone, it's our home patch and you want to win every time you pull on the green jersey."
