John Fogarty

A CONFIDENT lineout thrower and natural leader, John Fogarty is a former Connacht and Ireland ‘A’ captain who has just enjoyed a successful second season with Leinster, recently picking up the IRUPA Unsung Hero award.

Born in Cork but educated at Rockwell College in Tipperary, Fogarty had a three-year spell with Munster before joining Connacht for whom he made 110 appearances.
 
A powerful ball carrier with a strong work ethic, the 32-year-old is a brother of fellow Ireland ‘A’ and Munster hooker Denis.
Capped 12 times at Ireland ‘A’ level, including three as captain.
