Prop Cian Healy is expected to miss the start of the 2014 RBS 6 Nations after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old was in blistering form in the opening half of the Glasgow game, setting the province's first try and scoring the second when rampaging clear after handing off two would-be tacklers.
Unfortunately, an ankle injury cut O'Donnell's night short and he had to leave the pitch in the 50th minute with Paddy Butler replacing him.
Speaking afterwards, Munster head coach Rob Penney said: "Tommy has been good for us all year. I thought he had a blinder against Cardiff where he took a bit of a knock.
"He has had a tremendous month and I hope he can keep solid, he has a bit of an ankle injury going on."
Were the Tipperary forward to miss the first of the back-to-back European clashes with Saracens, the Munster management are optimistic that he will back in consideration for the second game in London on Sunday week.
Meanwhile, Alan Cotter has returned from his short loan spell with English club Bath. The 25-year-old tighthead prop is expected to train with the Munster squad at the University of Limerick tomorrow.
