AIB League Division 1, 2 & 3 Finals, Lansdowne Road, Saturday 8th May 2004.
AIB and the IRFU are delighted to announce that 'Pure Rugby' will be in full force in Lansdowne Road, on Saturday, 8th May when all three Divisional finals will take place. This will be the first time ever in the seven-year history of the AIB League that all three finals have been played on the same day and in the same venue.
Kicking off at 12 noon, the Division 3 final will be followed by the Division 2 final at 2pm, culminating with the Division 1 game at 4pm.
Speaking on behalf of AIB, Kathy McGarry stated that, "We are delighted that the Division One, Two and Three Finals will each be played in Lansdowne on the same day. This is the seventh season of our involvement with club rugby, and a great atmosphere is bound to prevail in and around Lansdowne Road, on a day that has become a highlight of the Club Rugby calendar'.
AIB's sponsorship of the AIB League has always focused on the community, and it's involvement in making the AIB League a successful competition. In order to make it a gala day for club rugby, sponsors AIB have joined forces with the IRFU to ensure that there will be a festival atmosphere on the day.
A number of activities are planned using the back pitch area, which will feature marquees, musical entertainment and a children's entertainment area with bouncy castles, face painters, obstacle courses, a bungee run and stilt walkers. These activities promise to add to a fun family day out with 'Pure Rugby' and much more!
