IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.

The reduced squad of 22 from which the Ireland team to play Italy in the RBS Six Nations Championship at Lansdowne Road on March 20th, will be named later this week.
The team to play Italy will be announced at City West Hotel, Banqueting Centre on Tuesday, March 16th at 12.45 pm. The Ireland squad of 31 is:
