IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.

Reporting to the 'Elite Player Development Manager', the 'Performance Analyst' will have:
0 An excellent understanding of the coaching process and the needs of elite players in a high performance environment.
0 Proven ability to analyse rugby union in relation to specific performance analysis support needs.
0 A working knowledge of computer analysis systems coupled with an understanding of various sport science and medicine disciplines.
0 Ability to modify performance analysis programmes according to the results of assessment data and performance in conjunction with rugby coaches and other support staff.
0 Previous exposure to the rules and regulations of rugby union.
It is essential that the successful candidate has exceptionally strong communication skills, including the ability to implement innovative ideas; to influence athlete and coach support programmes; and to communicate complex data in terms that are easily understood by a wide range of audiences.
Excellent team work abilities and presentation skills are also required, as well as an aptitude for problem solving and a positive attitude to the adoption of new ideas and practices.
