IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.
As summer time approaches, the rugby shall actually continue in Limerick. Why? IRFU Tag Rugby at Garryowen commences with an Open Night on Thursday, the 7th of June, thats why.
Tag Rugby's growth has been successful in spreading the popularity of the game of rugby during a traditionally quiet time of the year for clubs. Its non-contact nature and social aspect have made it accessible to both men and women in the specially graded levels run by the IRFU.
As well as all the action and fun on the pitch, there should also be plenty off it as the Garryowen club will be holding social events on Tag nights throughout the season, so there is lots on offer for everybody.
The IRFU Tag Rugby leagues at Garryowen starts on June 14th. In addition to this, the ideal way to introduce or re-introduce yourself to Tag is by joining in on the Open Night held on the 7th June . It will be a superb opportunity to get a taste of what goes on during an IRFU Tag Rugby Night and ask your local friendly venue manager any queries you may have.
There are still some team places available in some grades at this venue at the moment. To ensure your team's place, log onto www.irfutag.ie and register there.
