The event in Germany, the final European qualifier, will see five teams progress through to next year's World Cup, which is being held in Dubai.
Skurr talked to IrishRugby.ie about preparations for Hannover, his own rugby background and how he took on the role as Ireland Sevens coach.
The noted Sevens specialist also reflected on the 2008 campaign to date, the players and management currently involved in the Irish set-up, the current standard of the Sevens game in the country and what it would mean for Irish rugby to qualify for the Sevens World Cup.
