Ireland's John Lacey will referee his first ever RBS 6 Nations match in February, while Alain Rolland is also included in the Elite Panel in what is his last season.
Not only were the ground and clubhouse buzzing with activity during what is normally a quiet time for any rugby club but money was raised over the weeks in aid of the North Westmeath Hospice. After the finals games had taken place, a cheque was presented to Doreen Moughty of the hospice by Dave Farrelly, the Mullingar venue manager to rapturous applause.
Next up, Mullingar RFC's Brendan Leahy presented the winning captains, amongst which was Aubrey Pearson, skipper of the overall winning team, The Killer Bs their champions trophies.
To cap off the evening and indeed the great summer of Tag, the clubhouse was busy with revellers all toasting the league just completed and no doubt already looking forward to 2009!
