Also in the grounds was the Aviva truck which saw queues of people trying out the world's first 3D first-person-style Stadium Experience all day long. The kitchen, BBQ and clubhouse bar were also busy throughout.
The first rounds of games kicked off at 11am with crowds growing bigger as the day progressed and as each grade's league table began to take shape.
All three grades delivered some extremely tight encounters indeed that kept supporters and visitors alike enthralled.
The record number of drawn games was testament to this. Teams ending up first, second and third place in their league made it through to their Cup, Plate and Bowl semi-finals.
Not only were the spoils of a medal at stake, or the cups and titles, including the Paul Flood memorial trophy. Teams winning Cups and Plate competitions were to win fifteen tickets to see Ireland v France or Ireland v England at the Aviva Stadium this month.
Well done to all and many, many thanks to each and everyone who helped make the day as special and memorable as it was.
A gallery of photos from the day's proceedings will be posted online shortly.
