Ireland pulled clear of hosts Canada with four tries in the closing half hour as they earned a 40-14 victory at the BMO Stadium on Saturday night. Check out some photos from the Toronto tussle.

The Ireland Under-20 team, sponsored by PwC, to face tournament hosts France in Tuesday's 5th-8th place play-off at the IRB Junior World Championship has been named.

Fergus McFadden's desire to play international rugby on a regular basis was encapsulated by his last-minute try against Canada. The game was well won but Ireland wanted a sixth and final try and the in-form winger was only too happy to deliver, taking Paul Marshall's pass off a scrum and handing off Sean White to crash over in the left corner.

Also making a welcome return to field training was former All Black winger Doug Howlett who missed most of last season after sustaining an Achilles injury.

Christy Condon (prop from Dolphin) and Barry O'Mahony (flanker from Clontarf) are both on first-time contracts

Alan Cotter (prop), JJ Hanrahan (centre/out-half), Luke O'Dea (full-back/winger), Dave O'Callaghan (back rower) and Cathal Sheridan (scrum half) have all been promoted from the Munster Academy to Development contracts.

Will Chambers (Melbourne Storm) and Save Tokula were both included in the squad last season on short-term contracts and returned home when those contracts expired.
