Prop Cian Healy is expected to miss the start of the 2014 RBS 6 Nations after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.
Last year's seminar was very successful and was attended by over 100 coaches. This year more presenters and different topics have been added to the line-up.
The topics that will be covered are as follows:
Topic 1 - Free strength: Essential tips on improving athletic performance outside of the gym
Presenter: Joe McGinley (Munster Rugby NTP fitness coach)
Topic 2 - How to assess and develop movement skills in our players
Presenter: Des Ryan (IRFU fitness education manager)
Topic 3 - Periodisation for rugby
Presenter: Fergal O'Callaghan (Munster Rugby Academy and NTP fitness coach)
The seminar will be both theory and practical based using some of the young players from Munster Rugby as subjects and anyone who is willing to give it a go.
The seminar will be of great use to coaches who would like to know what is the most appropriate and practical method to develop their players.
The seminar is also ideal for coaches who would like to introduce something new and challenging to their training. The seminar is open to any coaches especially from Munster and the sounding area.
Similar seminars will be run in the Connacht, Leinster and Ulster areas. Information on these seminars and other courses during the year will be found on www.irishrugby.ie and provincial websites as soon as details are available.
