Ireland's John Lacey will referee his first ever RBS 6 Nations match in February, while Alain Rolland is also included in the Elite Panel in what is his last season.
The 36-year-old has been drafted in on a short-term deal as cover for Jared Payne who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Declan Fitzpatrick is again sidelined by the neck injury he suffered in the Glasgow game two weeks ago. Ruan Pienaar came through his 20-minute cameo against the Scarlets last Friday unscathed and is back in contention for a starting place.
The Ulstermen shared a pool with Aironi in last season's Heineken Cup and picked up 10 points from the two games, scoring ten tries in the process.
This season Brian McLaughlin's charges currently sit in third place after two rounds, two points behind Clermont Auvergne and four behind leaders Leicester Tigers. Friday's opponents Aironi are yet to register a point.
