Prop Cian Healy is expected to miss the start of the 2014 RBS 6 Nations after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.
Ulster secured a comfortable 22-3 home win over Connacht last Saturday, with Ferris and Rory Best making their first appearances of the season.
All Black prop John Afoa also made an impressive 60-minute debut in that game, dominating the scrum and featuring prominently in the loose.
Luke Marshall, Jared Payne, Ruan Pienaar, Jerry Cronin and Declan Fitzpatrick remained ruled out due to their respective injuries.
Saturday's opponents, Clermont Auvergne, have recruited heavily in the summer and despite having 12 players involved in the World Cup, they currently occupy second spot in the Top 14 Championship just one point adrift of Toulouse.
Seated tickets for the Ulster v Clermont Auvergne match are now limited but there is still availability for the Promenade and Terrace.
Tickets can be bought online at www.ulsterrugby.com or by calling the ticket office on 02890493222 (ticketing option).
Ulster Rugby would like to remind supporters that this season ticket zoning and scanning will be in operation at the ground and supporters should check their tickets to ensure that are entering through the correct gate. More details are available here.
