The Athlone Rugby Sevens tournament also gives teams the perfect opportunity for team bonding and spirit building.
The previous two Sevens events staged at Dubarry Park have proved succesful and this year the host club is offering a highly attractive prize fund in two competitions, thanks to benefactors such as Smith's Supervalu, Panther Sports, Elverys, Lucozade and others.
€2,000 is on offer to the winners of the Open tournament with €1,000 up for grabs for the Juniors. The Open event is geared for players/squads of Ulster Bank League standard with the Junior competition being attractive to Junior clubs and/or social squads. Entry fees are €250 for the Open and €200 for the Junior per squad of 12 players.
Buccs are planning on making it a good day out with entertainment and other prizes on offer at Dubarry Park. There will be music, a bouncy castle, a beer garden and face painting, while food/snacks will be available throughout the event at The Bounty.
Cash prizes are on offer for 'Player of the Tournament' and a 'Drop Goal' competition. 'Play and Stay' options are available, including a super €180 one night self catering deal per team of 12 or €360 for two nights. Now that's 'Supervalu'!
