SECURITY POLICYThe Rugby Football Union has announced that as part of an ongoing review of its security procedures that spectators attending this week's RBS Six Nations match between England & Ireland (and the England v Wales fixture on March 20th) will once again be liable to be searched on arrival at the stadium.
Stadium Director Richard Knight said
"There are a number of transport related issues regarding access to the stadium on major match days, which also need to be mentioned and highlight the need for everyone to take their seats well in advance of the kick off."
The Piccadilly Line is having essential maintenance carried out on March 20th and 21st 2004 and therefore supporters travelling to Twickenham Stadium should consider alternative routes or transport links. A replacement bus service is available from Ealing Common and the District Line will be running normally on the day of the England V Wales fixture. All underground tickets will be valid for the bus.
There are also essential works being carried out on the M40 at Junction 15. This is a busy interchange between the M40, A46 and the A429 in Warwickshire. The rest of the M40 is unaffected. However, alternative routes around Junction 15 of the M40 are strongly recommended. The works affect both the England V Ireland and Wales fixtures.
