The popularity of the women's game is at a record high with over 2,000 players currently registered nationwide. Needless to say it will be hard to escape the growing focus on women's rugby over the coming years - so why not join in?
The largest women's rugby club in Connacht is Galwegians and they are launching their premier recruitment initiative this week in a bid to increase numbers for the forthcoming All-Ireland League season.
'Wegians are asking their current squad members to 'bring a buddy' to club training on Thursday evening (August 12).
However, anyone who may be interested in joining the team, or killing their curiosity, who has no links with the squad, is more than welcome to attend.
The session will be under the auspices of strength and conditioning coach Emer O'Dowd, who takes the reigns again following her fantastic pre-season work last year, and will be followed by an informal gathering in the clubhouse.
The Galwegians Women's squad's Bring-A-Buddy session commences at 7pm at Crowley Park on Thursday.
