The Ireland Under-19 squad to face Australia Schools at Ravenhill on Saturday week (December 14) has been announced.
In Templeville Road, Matt Duggan scored an injury time try to give St Mary's College a 21-15 win over Ballymena. The home side were up and running early thanks to a try from Kieran Lewis, after good work from Barry Lynn and John McWeeney. Lynn added the conversion to that score and again tagged on the points when McWeeney scored his side's second try after Adam Larkin had opened the visitor's account with a 14th minute penalty.
Playing against the wind in the second half, Ballymena snapped back with a try from Matt McCullough and a second from Matt Waterhouse edged the visitors into a one point (15-14) lead. They seemed certain to hang on until Duggan's late strike which Lynn converted.
In HQ, Lansdowne had maximum points secured by half-time at which stage they led 35-5 against a Co Carlow side who failed to produce the performance from the previous week and in the end Lansdowne ended up 48-22 victors.
Up north, Belfast Harlequins' surge for a top four placing took a knock when they were beaten 25-17 by Buccaneers and just down the road Dungannon put another nail in the Terenure College coffin when they won 45-12.
UL Bohemians lost the Thomond Park derby, 33-16 against Shannon, and in Crowley Park Galwegians kept themselves in contention for honours with a 20-6 win over relegation threatened UCD.
In Cork, Blackrock College ended up with a bonus points after going down 37-33 to Cork Constitution, having trailed 20-16 at half-time
