IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.
After Ireland's historic win over Scotland and then the victory in Italy, young rugby hopefuls will be keen to know just what it takes to be one of the World's top rugby players.
Starting this week, Kellogg's Frosties and The Irish Independent are offering readers the chance to win an exclusive place at this unique one-day event to be held in Dublin on April 16th at Wanderers Rugby Club, Merrion Road, Dublin 4. Kellogg's Marketing Manager Noel Hegarty said, We are delighted to have Brian on-board with us for this special event and hope all our winners will have a fantastic day out learning the key skills needed for rugby success from one of the world's greatest players.
He added, Since the launch of the IRFU Frosties Earn Your Stripes Rugby Programme last year, there has been a phenomenal response to its campaign of enrolling new youth players to rugby. Kellogg's are committed to supporting young players in their quest for development in the game and hope that this event will work someway towards that. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian for his involvement in our Earn Your Stripes programme and for his ongoing enthusiastic support of youth rugby in Ireland. Finally I would like to thank The I.R.F.U. and the Youth Development Officers for all their work in making this happen.
On the day, Brian will bring the group of 8 - 15 year olds through their paces and offer some top advice for potential Irish rugby stars.
Brian O'Driscollcommented, I am really looking forward to the day and hope I can give some insight into the game that will be beneficial to our players of the future.
The competition will run every Monday in the newspaper until the end of the Six Nations on 30th March.
