Prop Cian Healy is expected to miss the start of the 2014 RBS 6 Nations after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.
It was Wood who opened the scoring with a try after 10 minutes and ninety minutes later, Henry Bourke scored the game's final try, a consolation score for the home side who ended up losing 38-12.
Anthony Horgan and Conrad O'Sullivan followed up Wood's score with a try apiece as Munster raced into a 19 point lead. Conor O'Loughlin scored his side's first try at the end of the opening quarter and as the traffic increased from the sideline with players coming on and going off, Munster centre,Jason Jones-Hughes, helped himself to a hat-trick of tries before David Hewett added the points to Bourke's try to end the affair, very much in Munster's favour.
Meanwhile, in Ravenhill, Ulster were turned over by London Irish losing 33-26 having raced into a 14 nil lead. (details on www.ulsterrugby.ie).
