Clontarf are home and hosed, Ballymena near enough the same and Lansdowne need just to hold their heads to go through to the knock-outs. So that leaves just one remaining place up for grabs with five possibly six sides who could still lay claim to it.
However the side in pole position is fourth placed Buccaneers and they can remove one of their most serious threats if they beat Shannon in Ericsson Park on Saturday. Buccs haven't beaten Shannon in the four League games the sides have played to date, but with an away game against UCD and then a final home fixture against Ballymena they really have the control of their own destiny.
Galwegians in fifth place, one point behind their western rivals are in Stradbrook for a match against a home side who were made look very mediocre last week by Shannon. Blackrock have never beaten a Connacht club in the League in Stradbrook and they've lost their last three encounters with Galwegians. But Galwegians face the toughest of run-ins with two remaining games against Clontarf (home) and Lansdowne (away).
At the bottom of the table the contest to see who joins Terenure College in Division Two continues with second from bottom UL Bohemians home to St Mary's College and Co Carlow, just one point ahead, home to UCD.
