IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.

The successful candidate will have:
- a minimum of 2 years coaching experience at this or a higher level - a proven track record of coaching professional rugby at a similar level - a high level of personal ambition and desire for success - strong communication, leadership and presentation skills - a positive and proactive approach to coaching rugby - an ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders
