Old Belvedere claimed a much-needed Division One win in the wind and rain at Eaton Park.

Belvo ended a run of four league defeats as winger Eamonn Fitzgerald's haul of four penalty goals helped them overcome Ballymena.

Try-scoring chances were at a premium and aided by the wind, Fitzgerald kicked three penalties to steer the Dubliners to a 9-0 half-time lead.

Ballymena scrum half Craig Woods missed two penalty opportunities and Fitzgerald held his nerve to land the only points of the second period.
