Prop Cian Healy is expected to miss the start of the 2014 RBS 6 Nations after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.
Supporters who arrive at the Sportsground on Friday evening wearing Connacht jerseys will be admitted free of charge to the ground for the clash with Rotherham Titans.
It was intended to distribute free tickets to the Rotherham match to those who attended the Connacht Open Day in aid of Special Olympics Ireland on Sunday.
But with that event being cancelled, Connacnht Rugby will now give free admission to fans who arrive wearing a Connacht jersey on Friday evening.
In addition, all children (Under-18) will also be admitted free to the game, Connacht's first home match of the new season.
Supporters are also asked to bring flags, bodhrans, drums or anything that will create a good atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the Connacht Rugby Open Day, which had to be postponed at the weekend because of the appalling weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 19, at the Sportsground.
Events will get under way at 12pm and continue until 3pm that afternoon.
Similar to the initial event planned for last Sunday, admission to the Sportsground for the Open Day will be free of charge, with events planned for all members of the family.
Free car parking will also be available at the Sportsground and throughout the afternoon there will be bouncing castles, obstacle courses, kicking and try-scoring competitions, while the Connacht players will do a demonstration of skills.
The Connacht squad will be in attendance throughout the afternoon, with a series of events planned for all members of the family.
