Wolf Blass has announced its partnership with the IRFU in a sponsorship deal which will see the Australian wine become the official wine of the Irish rugby team.
The announcement coincides with the Australians' arrival in Dublin to take on Ireland at Lansdowne Road this Sunday. The Ireland 'A' squad are also preparing to take on their Australian counterparts at Thomond Park on Wednesday (kick-off 7.30pm).
The sponsorship sees Ireland become a key part of the Wolf Blass Global Sports Strategy, which has developed sponsorships of rugby and cricket in both Australia and more recently in England.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Barry Costello, Marketing Controller, Edward Dillon & Co. Ltd., said: "As Ireland's leading premium wine, Wolf Blass is delighted to become associated with Irish rugby. Internationally, Wolf Blass is already an official sponsor of both the Australian and English rugby teams, so this deal extends our global association with rugby."
The IRFU's Director of Commercial & Marketing, Padraig Power, said: "The IRFU is delighted to welcome Wolf Blass as an official sponsor of Irish rugby. We look forward to building a positive association between Wolf Blass and the IRFU. Wolf Blass joins a group of blue-chip companies and brands that are sponsors of Irish rugby."
