The message is to use public transport wherever possible. The railway station is on the doorstep of the stadium. If fans must travel by car, we would urge them to allow plenty of time, to follow the signs from the approach routes to the city and to make use of the free park and ride services provided by the Council, said Deputy Mayor Christine Priday.
The key messages are,
Car parking in the city is limited and there is a need to minimise traffic so please use public transport where possible. Dedicated free coach parking will be provided in the city centre and the central train station is within two-minutes' walk of all facilities.
If using the car, share where possible.
Follow the appropriate signs into the city which will indicate routes and parking facilities.
Park and ride facilities will be available.
Leave sufficient time to complete your journey. The stadium is in the centre of the city with shops, pubs and restaurants all in easy walking distance. Leave early and make a day of it.
Roads around the Millennium Stadium are pedestrianised two hours before kick-off and one hour after the final whistle. A traffic free environment allows ease of access for fans, residents and visitors. and When leaving Cardiff, stagger your journey, as there may be delays on major routes in and out of the city.
