Ireland slipped to their second defeat of the 2006 IRB Women's Rugby World Cup on Monday night as the USA ran in four tries at Edmonton's Ellerslie Park.

Team News: Irish coach Philip Doyle has made four changes to the side that lost 43-0 to France last Thursday. Three of those are up front with Yvonne Nolan and Gillian McAllister filling in at hooker and tighthead prop for Jean Lonergan and Marie Barrett, with Eimear O'Sullivan making way for Orla Brennan as blindside flanker.

The other alteration sees Amanda Greensmith handed the number 11 jersey, ahead of Nuala Ni Chadhain.

The sides meet earlier this year in a Six Nations warm-up game for Doyle's charges in Limerick - the Americans ran out 25-10.

The recalled Brennan said: "Unfortunately it wasn't our day against the French but we've regrouped - we've learnt a lot from the opening game. It should be a bruising encounter aginst the USA!"
