Explaining the ethos of the event, Queen's Sport's Kevin Murray said: "Taking part in PE and sport has many advantages, such as developing a healthy lifestyle, learning new skills and having fun. This event shows that sport can also help children respect fellow players, referees, opponents and help develop an understanding of sportsmanship."
All primary schools received three weeks of quality IRFU-accredited coaching as part of their PE programme in the lead-up to this event.
Fergus Cole, a Primary 7 teacher from St Matthewâ00s PS, added: "The coaching and organisation of today's event was of a very high standard. We are very privileged to be part of this particular programme and other sporting initiatives at Queen's."
