Particular attention is drawn to the use of padding on players' legs to assist line-out lifting - this padding must not be in excess of 0.5cm. This effectively prevents the use of 'handles' built into padding above the jumpers' knees.
Padding on the forearms must also be no thicker than 0.5cm.
It is important that teams are aware of the above and comply accordingly. Referees will check such padding prior to matches.
