Leinster hooker Brian Blaney has been cleared by an IRFU Disciplinary Hearing following charges arising from the recent Magners League game between Leinster and Munster.
Following a hearing on Tuesday evening (October 17) which lasted approximately three-and-a-half hours before the IRFU Disciplinary Tribunal under the chairmanship of Pat O'Connor of the Connacht Branch, the Tribunal decided to dismiss the case against Blaney arising from the Leinster v Munster Magners League game at Lansdowne Road on Friday, October 6.
The Tribunal, after having listened to the evidence of six witnesses, viewed the video of the alleged incident and having heard the submissions made to it and having considered all of the facts and circumstances, decided to dismiss the case.
Blaney has been selected in the Leinster squad for their opening Heineken Cup pool game - Saturday's all-ticket affair against Gloucester (Lansdowne Road, kick-off 5.30pm).
