Commenting on the progress made so far, IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne said: "Lansdowne Road and the development of the new stadium there is going fantastically well. I think we're approaching a million man hours in terms of work on the site.
"The stadium is really out of the ground now. We're up to the sixth floor, seventh floor level on both sides of the ground.
"Even going into what is effectively a building site, there is already a 'wow' factor. It is going to be an outstanding stadium and a stadium which Irish rugby will be very proud of.
"I am quite certain that it's a place where international rugby players will want to play and not only our own international players but international rugby players from all over the world. So we're very happy with the progress there."
