Wendy Hickey, Connacht's Women's Development Officer, had this to say about the project. "The Fun X Four project has been such a great idea from the Galway City Sports Partnership. The feedback I get from the coaches after their sessions is very encouraging because for once, girls' participation in sport is at the forefront and they are thrilled to get involved in sports they might not have even tried before this project. I would like to thanks Jason Craughwell and Bronwyn Shields from Galway City Sports Partnership as well Anne O'Callaghan, Heather Carey and Margo Legault who provided great coaching on the project.
Martin Gallagher, PDGM for Connacht Rugby, said; "Connacht rugby are delighted to support this Galway City initiative. Wendy Hickey and Eamonn Molloy (Clubs Development Officer) have been instrumental in working with Jason Craughwell, Sports Development Manager with Galway City Sports Partnership. It is a great opportunity for these young girls to participate in 4 sports in one evening and it certainly opens up the door for them to play whichever sport or all sports when their various seasons run."
Fun X 4 Programme is soon coming to an end and will be finishing up the week of July 21st. Galway City Sports Partnership would like to thank all the participants for taking part and would like to invite them to attend a fun day of sports and activities at the Renmore Recreation Centre on Saturday July 26th from 3:00pm till 6:00pm. It is a great opportunity for the girls involved to have fun but also to meet some of the participants from other areas who took part in the Fun X 4 programme.
