    Ashleigh has quickly risen through the ranks of Irish Women's rugby since playing Tag rugby as a youngster and joining Belfast Harlequins aged 18.

    A graduate of aerospace engineering at Queen's University, she impressed in her first season with Ulster and Ireland in 2012 and featured on the right wing during the 2013 Grand Slam run. Ashleigh also played in the Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens last year.

    The youngest member of the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup squad at 22, she has been tasked with looking after team mascot 'Seamus' during Ireland's campaign in France.

    Gillian took up rugby in college and has starred for UL Bohemians and Munster, winning nine All-Ireland League titles and six Interprovincial crowns respectively.

    An Ireland debutant in 2008, the Limerick native has become a mainstay of the Irish pack - starting all five of the Grand Slam games in 2013 and the performance analyst touched down twice against France earlier this year.

    Gillian, who is also a keen show jumper, is playing at her second Women's Rugby World Cup and is closing in on a half-century of caps.

    Niamh, Ireland's goal-kicking full-back, has been to the fore during the squad's challenge for both Six Nations and Women's Rugby World Cup silverware.

    A native of Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, she scored three tries and kicked 28 points during the 2013 Grand Slam-winning campaign and has won a number of individual awards, including the Rugby Writers of Ireland and Munster Rugby honours. She was voted scrumqueens.com World Player of the Year for 2013.

    'Briggsy', who comes from a sporting family and is a former Waterford Gaelic footballer, works as a Garda in Limerick where she plays for UL Bohemians. Her rugby career started at Dungarvan RFC, aged 21, before she linked up with Clonmel RFC at senior level.

    Lynne, who is comfortable at inside or outside centre, is Ireland's most-capped Women's international and the inaugural winner of the Rugby Writers of Ireland Women's Player of the Year award in 2011.

    The Dubliner made her Ireland debut against England back in 2001 and this is her fourth Women's Rugby World Cup. The lynchpin back was vice-captain for the 2013 Grand Slam success and played in that year's Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens.

    Lynne, who attended UL and Southampton University, is a qualified physiotherapist and director of a physio clinic in Fulham. Captained Richmond to the English Premiership title earlier this year.

    Hannah made her Ireland debut in the record-breaking Six Nations win over Scotland earlier this year. Her grandmother hailed from Valentia Island in Co. Kerry.

    A strong-running winger who is nicknamed 'Choppa', she finished the 2013 Championship with five caps (three as a replacement).

    The Saracens back, who works as a teaching assistant, was then selected for her first Women's Rugby World Cup and made her third start for Ireland in the bonus point win over Kazakhstan.

    One of Ireland's most experienced and influential players, Fiona famously captained Ireland to an historic Women's Grand Slam in 2013 and first-ever wins over England and New Zealand.

    A real rock of the Irish pack, the workhorse prop took up rugby in college at UL and continues to line out for Bohemians at club level as well as her native province Leinster.

    The Clontarf woman, who works as a PE and maths teacher in Lucan, took over the Irish captaincy from Sarahjane Belton in 2008 and was installed in the role permanently two years later.

    Deservedly voted the 2013 Irish Times/Irish Sports Council Sportswoman of the Year, Fiona has now played over 80 times for her country and is gunning for WRWC glory in France.

    Kerrie-Ann made the step up to international rugby alongside her Saracens club-mate Hannah Casey when winning her first Ireland cap off the bench against Scotland earlier this year. She works as a PE teacher in London.

    The powerhouse prop, who grew up in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, also appeared as a replacement in the England and Italy games at Twickenham and the Aviva Stadium respectively, before earning her first start in the girls in green's World Cup pool win over Kazakhstan.

    First capped for Ireland in 2005, Grace is a skilful centre with a clever football brain. She has place-kicked in the past for club, province and country and is, pound for pound, one of Ireland's best tacklers.

    The Stamullen, Co. Meath native, who first played rugby with Boyne RFC, works as a maintenance technician for Belfast Harbour Commissioners.

    2014 was a memorable year for her as she won her 50th Ireland cap against Italy and made four successive starts in a centre partnership with Lynne Cantwell at the Women's Rugby World Cup. She also picked up the Drogheda Independent Sports Star of the Year award for 2013.
