Certified Conditioning Coach Course

The CCC: A process

The course is intended to help you gain the confidence and competence to physically prepare the players in your charge in a safe
and enjoyable manner for the game of rugby.

The course will not make you 'instantly qualified' in the area of strength and conditioning - it is an introductory course for those wishing to increase their knowledge base in the area of strength and conditioning and develop their coaching skills.

Past participants are welcome to revise and revisit any of the modules over the following three years at no additional cost.

These revision opportunities coupled with the work you do locally with your players will help you develop your coaching ability in
strength and conditioning for rugby. The course also serves as a strong networking opportunity to help you develop a network of
like-minded coaches that you can access as a valuable resource.

While there are theory based elements of the course, the course is primarily a practical, hands-on course where you will see and
practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for conditioning rugby players at all levels.

Course Material

You will be supplied with an electronic manual of the content delivered on the course. The course will cover:

- Exercise Science & Principles of Training
- Warm-up & Movement Skills
- Strength training
- Rugby specific conditioning
- Speed training for rugby
- Programming & Planning

In order to complete the course, applicants will be required to:
- Attend and participate in all course modules
- Successfully complete multiple choice questionnaires
- Complete a coaching assessment in strength training
- Complete a coaching assessment in rugby specific conditioning
