Women's Olympic Rugby Sevens Talent Identification Days
The Women's Rugby Sevens program is looking to identify sportswomen from any sporting background who have an interest in becoming an Olympian and feel they have the attributes necessary to play International Rugby Sevens. We will be holding Talent Identification days on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November at DCU Sports Campus. The day will involve applicants participating in a number of different physical tests and skills assessment.
It is not necessary for applicants to have had any previous rugby playing experience. All applicants will be given a specific time to attend the TID event, it is estimated that each TID session will last for approximately 3 hours.
A rugby seven's player needs to be fast agile and skillful. They also need to display high levels of fitness and durability in order to be able to play multiple games over two days.
Candidates must be females aged over 18 years of age and possess the following attributes:
- Good handling and evasion skills
- Good Fitness levels
- Good decision making skills
- Desire and determination for success
- Irish Qualified (Holder of an Irish passport/ parent or grandparent with an Irish passport/ living in Ireland for 36 months or more consecutively)
